At the beginning of July 2015, The Luke Somerfield Memorial Trust sent 12 pupils and two teachers from Tre-gib School in Llandeilo on an Outward Bound Course in Aberdovey in Gwynedd.

Three of the Trustees; David Somerfield, Carol Banbury and Andrew Williams visited for the day on 8th July to see how they were getting on.

The answer, of course, was splendidly! During the week they had hiked, camped out overnight and taken part in other team-building excercises.

The day of our visit, the pupils had been dropped off on a sandbank and had to paddle their kayaks back to shore. This was followed by a 'commando crawl' across a single rope strung between two jetties.

Our thanks to Isabel for showing us around on the day and our thanks to the kids whose enthusiasm and teamwork showed us first hand the benefits of the work that the Trust does.

Here are some photos of the day:

Some pictures of the ones that made it...

And some who didn't quite...

'Sir' shows the kids how it should be done...

Or, maybe....

...not!

Whether they made it across or not, a big well done to all who were brave enough to take part.
